Developing renewable energy

An introduction to renewable energy

This section will address the issues of how to develop a green energy strategy and appropriate infrastructure .

For too long we have been exposed to significantly raised energy and utility bills and this is also due to the fact that prices are often set on a world market and why would the privatised companies want to subsidise their customers when they want their profits to be high and also attract more money in through attractive shareholder dividends.

We need to bring this back in house as this is not sustainable across the country with so many struggling with the cost of living.

The transition to renewable sources of energy is an interesting one as we have many skilled staff in the sector that I believe will be great in the new technology following suitable training but also then being able to impart their knowledge in the sector.

We can not afford for energy costs to be kicked down the road by Parliamentarians focused too much on the short term rather than looking at the best and most cost effective long term options.

Water based renewable electricity

As a country surrounded with hills it is amazing that we have so badly failed to harness the use of green energy.

We have seen proposals for tidal power and the construction of hydro-electric dams raises the question as to why we haven’t done more to harness these technologies.

There is naturally a cost to the construction of these but there is always a cost but as seen with wind and solar power, this is a great way to develop renewable energy to make meaningful difference to our household and commercial real estate.

Why have we not gone ahead with projects in the Seven estuary and other suitable locations?

Have the lobbyists, investors and electricity customers managed to campaign or fund decision makers too well that the public good is not the plan?

Are governments more concerned with grabbing power and hopefully getting re-elected that they focus so much on the current Parliamentary period when we should, like the private sector, be looking at developing more longterm strategies with ongoing oversight and cost/quality controls?

Wind powered renewable electric

Whether it is on land or out at sea there is significant benefits to the developing of wind powered electric.

Whilst some may understandably not want them in their back gardens we do need to look at more renewable sources of the electricity we need

Solar power renewable energy

Solar power renewable energy

With the cost of traditional energy sources so high it is time for us to consider all the options that are available to reduce the cost of energy for the many people who are struggling with the cost of living crisis.

Whilst solar panels has become common place it is important to also consider the potential to use solar tiles as an alternative option when we are building new properties or replacing existing roofs.

As with so many new techologicial advances we do need to see safe battery storage especially following the spate of recent battery fires for bikes and scooters to ensure that safety concerns are adequately addressed
